BOULDER OUTDOOR COALITION ENDORSES CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES

All four candidates exhibit the following qualities:

  • Have demonstrated an open and sensible approach to community issues – they do not bring in a personal agenda – they listen to everyone, and then make rational decisions.
  • Are pragmatic thinkers, who wish to act in the best interests of all citizens of Boulder, not entrenched interest groups.
  • Are not stuck imitating the past, but rather are moving Boulder into the future.
  • Support the very special importance in this town of public access to public lands.

Ken Wilson – Ken is an engineer and scientist, and these qualities have been invaluable in his four years on Council.  He recognizes governing shouldn’t be a political agenda, but rather making rational decisions that work.

George Karakehian – George K is a downtown small business owner; a voice that has been surprisingly lacking from the Council. He has served two excellent years on Council, helping to balance Council with his adherence to common sense solutions.

Dan King – Dan made the Boulder Outlook Hotel, with its live music and expressive architecture, Colorado’s first a zero-waste hotel, proving that environmental stewardship, business success, and enjoyment are synergistic goals rather than opposing problems .

Fenno Hoffman – Boulder citizens took note of Fenno two years ago, when this architect and urban planner rose to prominence with his extremely insightful and progressive solutions on how to improve Boulder’s urban environment.

The Boulder Outdoor Coalition is composed of individuals who advocate stewardship, access, and appreciation of our public lands. Many are members of groups that represent thousands of Boulder’s hikers, climbers, runners, dog guardians, bicyclists, equestrians, conservationists, and environmentalists.
